Tracy Hammel, RN MSN, is a Post Deployment Specialist for the Seamless Transition Team at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Marion Campus.  She is a native of Huntington, Indiana and received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Ms Hammel received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in June, 2008.

Ms.  Hammel has a varied nursing background, having worked in areas such as surgical telemetry, medical-surgiccal, pediatrics, and mental health nursing.  She has been with VA NIHCS for eight years and mostly recently served as the nursing manager for one of the long-term mental health units.

Seamless Transition Post Deployment Specialist are available to GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) veterans to assist in coordinating a sometimes complex collection of services
