Fort Wayne VA holding Women Veterans health celebration - The Fort Wayne VA Medical Center will host a celebration for women Veterans Oct. 11. The event will be held at the VA facility at 2121 Lake Avenue from 3 – 7 p.m. in the auditorium. (10/05/2018)

Flu shots available Oct. 13 for Veterans - Flu shots will be provided free of charge to Veterans Saturday, Oct. 13 at the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System Fort Wayne medical center. (09/24/2018)

VA police team up with local first responders to share resources and knowledge - A team of VA Northern Indiana police recently spent a few days sharing procedures and information to local community first responders in helping Veterans in crisis. The event was organized locally and was well received by the attendees. (09/19/2018)

VA Northern Indiana shows improved ratings - Data released by the Department of Veterans Affairs indicate that VA Northern Indiana was one of 103 facilities that demonstrated improvement over the past year. Compared with data from the same period a year ago, the VA’s Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) report’s metrics show that VA Northern Indiana improved in overall quality. Mishawaka VA clinic to celebrate one year since opening - A celebration will be held Sept. 18 at the St. Joe County VA Health Care Center to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the facility’s opening. The event is open to the public and will include guest speakers by VA leaders and local dignitaries and be followed by an art show and benefits fair for area Veterans. (09/05/2018)

VA benefits fairs and town hall coming to Goshen - VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System will host a benefits fair and townhall Sept. 19 in Goshen. Groups from the Veterans Benefits Administration, Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, county Veteran service officers and National Cemetery Administration will be in attendance, as well as other veteran groups. VA and community partners supporting Veteran homeless stand downs - This year, VA Northern Indiana Health Care System will support nine stand downs in northeast Indiana. Last year similar events drew 850 Veterans and produced 30 referrals for follow up assistance. (08/20/2018)

VA benefits fairs scheduled for August - VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System will host several benefits and enrollment fairs in August in multiple towns. Groups from the Veterans Benefits Administration, Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, county Veteran service officers and National Cemetery Administration will be in attendance, as well as other veteran groups. Marion VA hosting annual job fair for Veterans and family members - The Marion Northern Indiana Healthcare System VA will host its sixth annual job fair May 2. The event will have over 60 companies accepting resumes and applications for positions. The type of companies varies and will include a wide array of different career fields, not just VA-related positions. Also representatives will be available to discuss VA benefits for interested veterans. (04/26/2018)

Annual VA2K event scheduled for May 16 - VA Northern Indiana will host the 2018 VA2K Walk & Roll event at multiple facilities May 16. The VA2K focuses on promoting active lifestyles and provides VA employees, Veterans and community members the opportunity to enjoy a short two-kilometer (approximately 1.2 miles) walk. (04/26/2018)
