Lori Garrett, Post Deployment Specialist Lori Garrett, RN, MSN currently serves as Post Deployment Specialist for the Returning Service Members Program at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System.  One of the newer Returning Service Members, Lori joined our program March 31st 2007.  Lori is a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, the mother of 4, the daughter of a former Navy Fireman, and the granddaughter of an Army sergeant who served a tour in Japan during WWII.  Her experience with the VA began when she was a nursing instructor for a local university and brought nursing students to the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System.  Lori was so impressed with the care and technology at the VA that she came to work here in July, 2003.  The expertise Lori contributes to the team includes the medical biological model, neuro-psychiatric experience and substance abuse treatment.

Returning Service Members Post Deployment Specialist are available to GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) veterans to assist in coordinating a sometimes complex collection of services
